1

Target Grade 6–9 reading level for blog posts and marketing copy.

2

Red highlights = very hard to read sentences — break them into two. Yellow = hard to read.

3

Adverb highlights (blue) tell you where your verbs aren't strong enough — 'ran quickly' becomes 'sprinted'; removing adverbs forces more precise, powerful writing.

4

Use Hemingway for email subject lines specifically.

5

Hemingway works offline and has no AI sending your text to a server — paste confidential legal, financial, or client content without privacy concerns.

6

Use passive voice highlights (green) to find weak constructions — 'the report was written by the team' → 'the team wrote the report'. Active voice is always shorter and clearer.

7

The desktop app ($19.99 one-time) lets you publish directly to WordPress and Medium — no copy-paste, no formatting loss. The one-time price has been unchanged for 8 years.
