Restaurant reputation management: a practical guide for Indian owners

By the Reveaxa team · Updated · 6 min read

Short answer: complete your Google Business Profile, reply to every review, ask every customer for a review in the same way, and handle complaints quickly and privately. Do these four things consistently and your online reputation takes care of itself.

Step 1: Claim and complete your Google Business Profile

Claim your profile at business.google.com. Add real photos, correct hours (including holidays), your menu, and fill in every field. People decide from your profile before they visit, so keep it current.

Step 2: Reply to every review

Thank people for good reviews and use their name. For bad reviews, reply quickly, apologise without making excuses, and offer to sort it out directly. Keep private details out of public replies.

Step 3: Get more reviews, the right way

Ask every customer, not just the ones who look happy. A table card or bill QR code works well: “Please tell us how we did on Google.” Google’s policy doesn’t allow asking only satisfied customers, and it doesn’t allow discounts or free items in exchange for reviews.

Step 4: Handle complaints like a pro

  1. Acknowledge the specific problem.
  2. Apologise sincerely.
  3. Offer to fix it: invite them to call or message you.
  4. Fix the cause, and mention what you changed if they come back.

Step 5: Don’t forget other platforms

Many diners also read Zomato and Justdial. Reply there too, in the same tone. Reveaxa can draft those replies for you to post.

Reveaxa watches your Google reviews and drafts Hindi and English replies for you to approve. See how it works.
